چکیده
drying is considered as one of the important stages after plant harvesting which plays an important role in maintaining the quantity and quality of their active ingredients. st. john's wort (hypericum perforatum l.) is an important medicinal plant that high percentages of hypericin in its leaves and flowers are considered as the most important feature of the iranian species. in this research, effect of three treatments including the temperature at three levels of 40, 50 and 60°c, the air velocity at two levels of 0.3 and 1 m/s and the bed depth at two levels of 1 and 2cm were investigated in terms of the effect on extraction of hypericin. considering the results the highest amount of hypericin was obtained during the drying process at 40°c and in a hot air velocity of 1 m/s and in the bed depth of 1cm and with the amount of 865.41 μg/g dry weight and the lowest was obtained during the drying process at 60°c and the hot air velocity of 0.3 m/s and in the bed depth of 2 cm and with the amount of 587.31 μg/g dry weight.

BACKGROUND Mastitis reduces milk yield and alters milk composition. Antibiotics are widely used in the treatment of the disease. However, this widespread use of antibiotics causes both antibiotic residues in milks and antibiotic resistance developed in bacteria. Today's researches are focused on discovering and using new antibiotics against bacteria. OBJECTIVE The aim of this work was to disc...
متن کاملSt John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum L.) Photomedicine: Hypericin-Photodynamic Therapy Induces Metastatic Melanoma Cell Death
Hypericin, an extract from St John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum L.), is a promising photosensitizer in the context of clinical photodynamic therapy due to its excellent photosensitizing properties and tumoritropic characteristics. Hypericin-PDT induced cytotoxicity elicits tumor cell death by various mechanisms including apoptosis, necrosis and autophagy-related cell death. However, limited rep...

The objective of this study was to develop a model for drying characteristic curve of Spinach in Universal Hot Air Oven .Drying experiment were conducted using a constant air velocity2.2m/s and three drying air temperature of 55, 65, and75 o C with two pretreatment conditions and load densities that are given respectively condition (Blanched and Unblanched) load density (3kg/m 2 , 3.5 kg/m 2 )....
متن کاملPreparation of a polyclonal antibody against hypericin synthase and localization of the enzyme in red-pigmented Hypericum perforatum L. plantlets.
Hypericum perforatum is well known for its antidepressant and anti-inflammatory activities, for which hypericin and its derivatives are indicated to be the most active compounds. Hypericin synthase (Hyp-1) is the only protein proven to catalyze the synthesis of hypericin. In this study, the full-length cDNA of Hyp-1 was chemically synthesized according to the Hyp-1 sequence in GenBank (accessio...
